This week was all about artificial intelligence and ethics<\/strong>:
\nOur client BINDER GR\u00d6SSWANG hosted an exciting panel discussion<\/strong> with Sabine K\u00f6szegi, Erich Prem, and Ivo Rungg.<\/p>\n

Sabine has been closely connected with hrdiamonds for a long time, so there was no question that we wanted to be there despite having had an intense few weeks. It was a good decision:
\nRarely has a discussion on AI and ethics been as multifaceted, inspiring, and intelligently conducted as this one.<\/p>\n

Our main takeaways<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

AI is changing work, but it is not replacing humans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Technology is not destiny, but can be shaped. Automation is changing activities, but everything that requires empathy, creativity, and social intelligence remains deeply human.<\/p>\n

Europe has a special responsibility.<\/strong>
\nWhile the US and China dominate technological progress, Europe can shape trustworthy AI through ethical guidelines, regulation, and competence building.<\/p>\n

AI reflects the past, and we must shape the future.<\/strong>
\nAlgorithms learn from past data. \u201cFairness\u201d is not a mathematical question, but a social one. It is up to us to consciously steer technological developments.<\/p>\n

Digital education is key.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Only those who understand how AI works can critically question it, use it sensibly, and prevent misuse. Competence in dealing with data and algorithms is the basis for ethical action.<\/p>\n

An inspiring evening that showed:<\/p>\n

Technology is only as smart as the values we give it.
\nAI concerns us all! Ethics is not a marginal issue, but the basis for responsible innovation.<\/p>\n
