International Women´s Day 2026

If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.

Shirley Chisholm

This sentence captures the essence of what International Women's Day (and every other day) is all about: women don't wait for spaces to open. They create them. They organize, network, support each other, and build structures in which women become visible, empower themselves, and help shape the future.

Because equality is still far from being a given. In many contexts, women continue to experience structural disadvantage. Unequal opportunities, lack of security, and limited participation are a reality for many. And in the worst cases, this inequality even costs lives.

This is precisely why initiatives that make community and solidarity visible are so important.

hrdiamonds was founded by women and is run by women. Perhaps that is why one thing is particularly close to our hearts: making initiatives that empower women visible.

On International Women's Day, the Vienna State Opera will become a stage for female strength:
At RISE!, initiated by the MADITA association and facilitated by dedicated supporters, 2000 women come together and use music, community, and attitude to show what is possible when many voices become one.

We are particularly pleased that hrdiamonds was able to donate three Karma tickets. Together with organizations such as Caritas, HEMAYAT and other partners, this will enable women to participate who would not otherwise be able to afford a ticket.
Because sometimes a ticket is more than just a seat in the hall: it is a sense of belonging. Tailwind. And the feeling: I have a place here.

We saw how powerful even small gestures can be at our AI panel discussion, where we served Muschicraft beer, a feminist project that supports initiatives against violence against women with every beer sold.

Perhaps these are individual gestures.
But many individual gestures add up to something bigger: movement. Visibility. Change.
And above all: a seat at the table that we can claim together.

Which initiatives by strong women for women inspire you—on March 8 and beyond?
