What Really Defines My Personality? The Big Five

With the Big Five, personality psychology offers a sound basis for describing and understanding individual characteristics. The five dimensions of openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and emotional stability show how people think, feel, and act — and how they perform in a professional context.

What do the Big Five measure?

The model describes five fundamental dimensions that shape our behavior and experience

  • Openness – curious, creative, willing to learn
  • Conscientiousness – organized, responsible, goal-oriented
  • Extraversion – energetic, sociable, assertive
  • Agreeableness – cooperative, empathetic, considerate
  • Emotional stability – calm, resilient, stress-resistant

The analysis reveals a person's distinctive characteristics, where their potential lies, and how they deal with change, responsibility, or conflict.

At hrdiamonds, we use the Big Five to reveal potential: Where do my strengths lie? How do I deal with responsibility, change, or conflict? And how can I work even better in a team?

Those who understand their own personality develop more consciously, thereby strengthening not only themselves but also cooperation in their team.
